You got an awesome result right there!

orly? I have seen alot of good clocks on here with these chips. I think most 1055's on here are runnin close 2 4ghz right? I may have just seen so many high clocks on here I think I can achieve them all on hardware that cost 1/4 the price lol. Alot of the stuff i see around this forum I may never get to own/try but I love seeing it dome smile.gif

Those chips hit a wall at around 4.2 when you need like 0.1v more to go higgher, and things get cooky.
Just delided a celeron 478 chip....took me 5 minutes or less!
Got it done right in a sec, just following a piece of advice from our club:
Use a razor and start with one corner, after you enter the glue paralell to the pcb, start wiggling the blade never removing it from the glue. I worked my way all around the ihs and did a clean job, not a single scratch!
Bad news is all my free mobos are dead :/

Okay so here we go..

Couple of side views for ivanlabrie and for reference/proof

Finally! This was so hard/scary to do!
Note: The paper really helped as it was starting to hurt/cut my hand without it. thumb.gif

Notice the copper centre? Kind of like Intels CPU coolers with the copper core..
Also as a note I couldn't remove the paste as it was rock hard, I managed to chip a small bit off with my nail but it doesn't matter anyway as I was just doing this for the proof of the concept (and to see if I could successfully do it)

Cleaned with my finger nails.. I actually broke one in the process tongue.gif

I used MX-2 on the core AND on the cooler side.
Also note that the IHS was really hard to remove AND it DID require a small twist to the blade to get the last bit off as the paste was rock hard underneath, also note that metho didn't remove the dried up thermal paste at all.

Another thing to note is I can't test temperatures as the board won't display anything other then the BIOS on my TV.. I Have no idea why, but the first board was dead (the one that I pulled the CPU from) - I tested the second with the other CPU in there and it was fine and did a post beep code twice (two quick ones if anyone wants to help me with that?) The De-Lidded CPU could enter the BIOS exactly the same as the other non de-lidded one so I'd say that is a success.

Is there anyone out there that knows of an updated CPU list? I was wondering if AMD Phenom II 960T was solder or tim I think its solder if it was TIM then DAMN... I got it all the way to 4GHz @ 1.392v on all six cores but it was pretty hot. I had it water cooled and my i5-2500k is a good 15-20c cooler under load! I doubt my i5 is TIM because it just seems to good.

will it do this? http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2186279
hey seriously..don't heat the cpu up too much
I used to get 29c under load @ 4.3 with mine..I overdid it and then it ran hotter cuz the solder under the IHS loosened up..
so I tried to "fix" by sticking it in a pan to melt the solder and delid..I killeded it.
http://www.overclock.net/t/1290023/my-phenom-ii-x4-960t-unlocked-to-1605t-yay#post_17862851

i assume hes talking about the Phenom II X4 960T, because the whole thread is about it ..lol
2500k is soldered smile.gif
