The Best PS2 Emulator?

Thread Starter
What would be the best PS2 emulator out there? I know ePSXe is the best for the PSX, but I haven't ventured into the PS2 territory yet . It would be nice if it was fully compatible with gamepads as I have a pretty nice one I use for emulating purposes. Thanks.

This is the only emulator I know of, and it's pretty slow still...
EDIT: from what I've heard about it

I would watch what you guys say about emulators and ROMS.
This is on the border-line of breaking the T.O.S.

Just a heads up

Talking about emulators is completely fine unless you ask where to find illegal files like BIOS files ans stuff.

http://emulator-zone.com/

Go there for all your emulator needs.

PCSX2 is the most compatible and fastest one out there. There was recently a update to GSDX which is the most common DX 9/10 video plugin and the updated version now uses SSSE3 over SSE2, I got HUGE speed boost and quality boost. The emulator currently supports dual cores but will NOT be supporting quads, the devlopers have said they tested it with 4 threads and it caused major problems. Apperently the nature of PS2 emulation don't co-op with quad threads. There is also supposed to be a native x64 version on it's way and another release of GSDX plugin that will use SSSE 4.1 in the Wolfdale/Yorkfield CPUs.

Do these emulators play the disc ISO's then? I've always been a little flakey on knowledge when it comes to this sorta thing...

Yes it runs ISOs fine, I make ISOs out of all my games so its loading off the HDD which is setup in RAID 0 which blows away CD drive speed. It is legal to make ISOs of games you own.
