If you want to upgrade to the GTX, GTS, or GX2 when they are released go for evga, if not go xfx

XFX gets double lifetime warranty. If you sell your card to someone else, they also get a lifetime warranty. XFX also covers OCing and 3rd party coolers last time I checked.

eVGA has only a lifetime (single user) warranty. They also cover OCing and 3rd party coolers.

I've had a great experience with eVGA. Their customer support is very helpful. When I had to RMA mine, I was a bit lost when getting my registration info together. They actually filled out the pages and did the work for me. I then sent my card in. They received it 2 days later, then sent it the next day (UPS got it to me 2 days after that, though.) My card I sent in was a 6600GT. When I opened the package, I found a brand new, sealed-in-box, NV40 (unlockable) 6800XT. I was very pleased. Great experience with eVGA; I do recommend.

Oh, and now you must register your card within 30 days of purchase to get the lifetime warranty. No big deal.

And also note that some cards are not covered by a lifetime warranty and only instead carry a 1 or 2 year warranty! It'll say on the site something like "All cards have lifetime warranty except those whose model names end in TX or AF or JZ" or something similar.

My 7950GT is "generic." I got it off a friend who got it at an nVidia conference.

All the cards I've bought retail, though, are eVGA. I don't feel any "brand loyalty," but I had a great experience with them and wouldn't hesitate to buy their products again.

Only on certain cards. Midrange and low end cards don't get a lifetime warranty, I believe.

The products that get lifetime warranty are: http://www.evga.com/support/lifetime/default.asp

Quote:
Limited Lifetime Warranty is for all retail Graphics Card and Mainboard products ending in the part numbers A1, A3, AR, AX, BR*, BX*, DR, DX, FR, FX, SG, SL, or S2.
* [Replacement products are shipped out as –BR or –BX and will carry the same limited lifetime warranty that your original purchase had based on your registration.]
To qualify for Lifetime, products must be registered within 30 days of purchase or it gets only 1 year warranty. All other products get 1 year warranty plus another 1 year with registration within 30 days.
Once again...
