OK, I wil run a memtest and see what it shows. I just got a 2nd CPU today, so I will have my back-up rig running. I should be able to switch the RAM between the two to see if it is a memory controller issue.

I have a feeling it is a corrupt XP install. When I am booting into XP, it takes a good minute to a minute and a half to go to desktop after I put in admin password. Sometimes it goes in right away like normal, but mostly is hangs for a bit. I suppose this could be caused by hardware too, but I think I remember having this problem when I installed the trial version on another PC for my nephew.

update: Well, I went home to a non-functional PC last night. I decieded to try a memtest and it turns out, on of the ballistix were bad. It failed in the first 3 minutes at stock settings. I am hoping that has been my problem all along. i just ordered some new sticks (GSkil DDR 1000, 2x2gb) Hopefully my problems are over. I went home at lunch today and my PC was still folding. this is the best it has done in a while, lol.
