[tcMag] HD 3850X2 rumored being prepared?

Thread Starter
$200+? Seem a good deal...
Quote:
Successful or not the Radeon HD 3870 X2 is now rumored to have convinced AMD into making another dual-GPU card. Likely to go after the GeForce 9800 GTS/GT, the Radeon HD 3850 X2 will be a single-PCB, dual-GPU card powered by two RV70 chips and equipped with a PCIe (2.0?) bridge.

Set to come around Computex in June the 3850 X2 should help AMD offer something for the $200+ segment, at least until the first RV770 card are released

Is this in anyway related to the HD3870x2 A12 revision?

I am so getting me this once I can afford such a beast (NOTE: This is my most powerful card aside from my 9800XT)

I'd guess $250-300.

It is just a rumor....

This could be good. Maybe they will discontinue the GDDR3 3870 and make only GDRR4 and make 3850 a GDRR3 version with maybe 600Mhz core.

Sounds like a good idea.

But will it blend?

plees let this be true

the only differense between 3870x2 and 3850x2 would be clock's
the hardware would be exactly the same, as thy already use gddr3 on the 3870x2

but i realy cant see this happening,
unless the oem's made too many gddr3 3870x2 bord's and cant get rid of them before thy start pumping out gddr4 3870x2 board's,
witch i dont think thy have done.
