I try to save the money when I can, and if this does work, i've got an intel dg33tl board that i can pick up a quad for and do an 'insta-333' mod =p.

That, and I never shy away from a challenge/adventure/way to get the chicks. And modding a cpu is the ONLY way to get the girls.

Its not really wasting.. And if he can't get a better OC with the 1203 bios he may have to try running at the 1333 strap with the bsel mod.. (BTW can you not adjust the strap in the bios for that motherboard?) Good or bad motherboard, if it takes the bsel mod it will most likely increase its overall oc.. And I would take his p5n32e over that DS3L...

I don't know if that motherboard will do the bsel mod or not.. I can't recall any Nv or AMD chipsets being tested with the bsel mod.. Only a few 965 motherboards would take the mod..

Give it a shot.. It won't hurt your cpu at all.. In all the threads and posts from those who have tried it, No one killed their cpu.. Including me..

Things to look for..

If the mod works with that motherboard you may hit a cmos error at the boot screen.. F1 will usually allow you to boot, and will need to be pressed everytime you boot..

If it doesn't work, then you'll just have a black screen..

Also, some use an older bios that doesn't recognize the series of cpu you are using.. Im not sure there are any for that motherboard and cpu..

Let us know your results if you try the mod..

thanks very much for the insight! i'll look into what that board can do as far as the cpu strap, but i don't recall seeing anything. haven't looked in a few weeks though.. will be sure to provide updates.
