E6600 Temps

Surely my temps should not be this high on such a low voltage?

First of all, what are your ambient temperatures (the temp in your room)? Secondly, if this is your heatsink:

... I don't think it's going to be much better than the stock cooler at all. What thermal compound did you use, and how much?

Those are core temps not Tcase. Your 61c thermal spec is Tcase temp NOT cores, and Tcase for E6600 is roughly 15c lower than the cores. Open SpeedFan or Everest and look at "CPU" temp, that is Tcase. Your temps are fine

Cores are the heat source, Tcase is the die temp reading on the surface of the die. While the DTS are inside the heat source (cores) which generates the rule that Tcase can not ever be hotter than cores. Do you have Everest installed? and the "CPU" temp reading in Speedfan does increase on load correct? Sometimes SpeedFan will label it wrong. If you also have the "PECI" option in bios enable it, it not, it should be auto enabled then.

Can you show a load temp ss perferably with Everest.
