Like Nemesis said, Clear Sky is a prequel to the original. I also thought the screenshots looked familiar at first, then I remembered that Clear Sky happens before the original.
I'm also with the DX10 haters
. After the screenshots of Crysis were released I promised myself I HAD
to buy it, but once the game came out the graphics (and performance, of course) just didn't seem as great as in the screenshots. My rig was a rather nice setup when Crysis came out and I understand that it couldn't handle all the settings at max and still produce a decent framerate... but even when I turned it to max it still didn't look like the screenshots Crytek sent out before the game was released. Now don't get me wrong, I am not
saying Crysis was a bust, it just would have been nice to get what was promised to us "the best-to-date graphics with smooth performace with a C2D E6600 and a single 8800GTX." I'm a little more cautious about how excited I get about upcomming games.
I will still buy Clear Sky (and Far Cry 2) when it comes out, but I will not expect some god-like game that will be hyper-realistic. These upcomming games will kick buttocks, but at the same time I don't think any
game will ever live up to it's own public induced hype.
