[PCGH] Source DX 10 pictures?

The GDC lecture on "Post Processing in the Orange Box" starts with the topic of alpha blending and illuminates the technical and visual differences between Direct X 9 and Direct X 10/Xbox 360.

The DX10/Xbox-360-Variante the Source engine shows a dense smoke, a slightly modified ignition at the Gravity Gun, and a slightly modified health indicator. The matching pictures and the technical framework can be found in the gallery.

So far the source engine officially only on Direct X 9-rendering. Valve but stresses that DX10 graphics cards when alpha blending well with DX9 games based on the Source engine behave as though it were a DX10 game. This means that source Engine games on DX10 graphics cards may look quite different than DX9 graphics cards.

Very nice. Looks promising. DX10 seems to be a really good with volumetric effects.

I hope they implement some of these features into the aging CS:S.

Other than the smoke, is there any deference? Beside that, X360 graphics are based on DX9 anyway.

Haha mind u its better than what most develipers do now, which is try and disguise bad jaggies by throwing BLOOM everywhere.
