q6600 overclock, plz help

Thread Starter
hello guys,

currently I have a q6600 running stable at 2.8 GHz but if I clock it to 2.9 GHz the pc stalls and i need to reboot. I would like to go for 3.5 GHz.

Check my specs for details on my computer.

I hope i provided enough information.

Have you tried raising the voltages a tad? Like Vcore or NB Volts?

Noticed your running DDR2 667, you will need to Unlink your ram above 333Mhz FSB

all my voltages are on [AUTO]
I have 2 strips of DDR2 ram:
DDR2-SDRAM PC2-4300 @ 266 MHz (5-4-4-12)
DDR2-SDRAM PC2-5300 @ 333 MHz (5-5-5-15)

also these voltages are still on [AUTO]

Having 2 different types of ram won't help, take out the 533 dimms and try. And don't leave voltages on Auto.

i noticed that you have stock cooling on your cpu, which wont help you getting 3.5 ghz... you might wanna look into an aftermarket cooler (tuniq tower, or thermalright ultra extreme)
