Make sure the video card is working correctly and that you've connected the PCI power connector if applicable.
Also make sure that your PSU has enough juice to power all the components
post #3 of 14
My top three possibilities:

1. Improperly seated processor not making contact. Reseat the processor.
2. Improperly seated video card. Reseat video card in its slot.
3. Loose monitor cable.

Those are most likely. If you don't get a BIOS beep it's probably No.1. If you don't get a BIOS beep and No.1 doesn't help it might be a dead processor. Static is bad.

Try re-seating the RAM and the video card. If that doesn't work, try just one stick of RAM, then try just the other stick. Make sure all power connectors are hooked up (24 pin on board, an additional 4 or 8 pin on board near CPU, possibly a 4pin molex on board as well by the PCI slots). Also make sure your video card is plugged in (should have either one or two 6pin power plugs).

If the motherboard doesn't post or make any beep codes and your screen stays black (and the monitor power inidcator stays orange) then it's most likely a bad board or bad RAM. Try the RAM in someone else's computer. If you can, try the CPU in another computer too. Goodluck! These situations can always be stressful

Your mobo should have come with a little speaker that you plug into it. That's the case speaker. Make sure you have that connected so that if there are any problems, you'll know about it . So have you tried any of these things?

Make sure you get your monitor analog and digital settings right. You may have to press something on the monitor to switch the signals.

Or... does the monitor say something like "Cannot find signal"?
