Thread Starter
hello all!
- i am about to purchase a E2200, DS3L, 2gb pc2-6400 and a 8800gt. now my question is will i notice a significant speed increase from stock cpu speeds to say, o/cd to 3.0ghz or 3.2ghz

having never used one of the newer cpus (i have p4 3.2 s478 atm) i dont know what to expect!!

Yes there will be a pretty nice increase. You may want an e2160/80 if you're going to be overclocking anyway. I think they can go higher with the right motherboard.

Not sure on the motherboard, but if you're talking about the Gigabyte for $90 at newegg it should do pretty well.

P.S. fill in your computer specs by pressing the "user CP" link at the top of the page, and then go to add system.

Yes you will notice and increase in performance, more so in benchmarks than gaming. If your running around 1280x1024 games become more CPU bound at this resolution. So it will help...

It will be a notice performance boost. E2200 has same scale as E2180 so you can pick an e2180 if it can save you some money.
