Stability Test Problems

Thread Starter
Hey all, this is my first overclock and i'm having a little problem. I got my E6850 up to 4GHz on my custom rig, and i got it to boot into windows OK. I download Prime95 to do a torture test, and when i attempt to do one it resets my computer instead of saying that there's something wrong. I download orthos and the same thing happens. I lower the speed to 3.8 and i can get orthos to run for up to an hour before it resets my computer. i have a high end fan/heatsink so thats not the problem, and i upped the voltages to what nvidia recommended for CPU's (evga 680i).

any help would be greatly appreciated

It would be helpful if you filled out your specs at the top of the page, click on UserCP.
What are your voltages and how are your temps?

When you're running Orthos are you running the blend test or small fft? Try small fft.
You'll also need to find out what your load temps are, you can find them using Core Temp
http://www.overclock.net/downloads/1...core-temp.html
Edit: What is your RAM voltage, this may be your issue.

Most boards default DDR2 RAM voltages to 1.8
If this is your RAM it says it should be at 2.1 volts.

If you mean these, they're supposed to be 2.1 volts also.

you don't need it to that high, i suggest keeping it at 3.6 or something, ur GTS 640 is not being bottle necked, and you'll run fine on games. and what kinda cooler uha ve?
