Which headphones?

Thread Starter
Well I am looking for some new headphones, looking at the Sennheiser HD 555's and the ATH-700's. Which should I get if I will be listening mostly to metal and some occasional gaming. I am leaning towards the sennheiser's right now, I will also be using these with my ipod.

Buy the Sennheiser. You'll be happy you did.

This might help if you go the Sennheiser route.
I made that thread and ordered from there and they turned out great.

It isn't part of your options, but I LOVE my icemat siberia headset. I've never tried the heatsets you listed.

ATH-700s, they are outstanding. The soundstage for gaming can't be beat, in my opinion.

u didn't state ur option for the ATH clearly, it can be either the ATH-A700 or the ATH-AD700, if you look around, you will probably find out the pros and cons between them, some quick info on them would be that the A700's are more bassy, closed headphones and are about 20-30$ more while the AD700's are open type headphones, and are said to have better soundstage?? im not sure about that one.

i was using the Icemat Siberia's before, yea they were good, but upgrading the the A700's was quite the improvement
