lolll bro, since you have warranty keep sending it to microsoft, maybe you will get the Falcon which dont generate heat, and when ur warranty expired make the 12V mod, and you will not melt your wireless adapter anymore proven

I dont know if someone has stated this already but the RROD is NOT caused by overheating, it is caused by the poor solder connections between the cpu/gpu, not heat...an overheating trick is actually used to CURE the RROD temporarily, never the less, still a pretty cool mod (pun intended) but i think the fans are already loud enough for me

yeah the its solder connection problem, but it will not be damaged if there is no heat that make them melt

This is true. My friend was removing his CPU heatsink when HE KNOCKED A CAPACITATOR OFF! THEN LOST IT! But he sent it in, and it was replaced. Even though he opened it. So my other friend tried it, and they sent his back.

Wow thats awesome, I so want to try this. The fan mod along with a xclamp mod will/should def. cure the damn overheating **** (RRoD)

the 12V mod is too easy and simple, the x-clamp mod could damage your xbox if your not pro!!!

You don't have to be a pro. It's not that hard, esp. for anyone who would come onto these forums.

And the 12V "mod" will not cure existing RROD issues, because as 20 other people have mentioned now, it's a combination TIM/hairline solder gaps in the GPU balling.

djgaby, your fan mod religion is becoming harmful misinformation, IMHO.

Mr. Abilor... dont tell me that you dont need to be a pro to: remove the motherboard without damaging it(1) and removing the heat sinks which are very tight attached on the GPU and CPU (without touching any capacitor or diod on the board when holding it or burn your board with your body's static electricity (2) and removing the old heat grease
from the top of the cpuand gpu which is glued on the surface tightly without damaging the chipsets(3), i know there is thousands of tutorial who can make you learn how to do it, but still there is a chance to damage your xbox... and its a big one...as you told me there are a lot of people telling me thats its easy, well there are many too telling me that they damaged it even if following the tutorials , secondly as you said that its cause by "TIM/hairline solder gaps in the GPU balling" is true... but i would like to tell you that it's
happening due to heat/cold cycles when you turn on and off the console and with time, but if there is no heat, the problem will not exist, the 12V mod will keep your xbox on your room tempreture and that heat is not enough to form the "hairline solder gaps" i dont want to repeate what im saying many times in my thread but seems you dont like
to read... there is only one bad thing about this mod as i mentioned, its the loud noise, but you will not notice it a lot when playing on little higher volumes and you will get used to it, so Mr.Abilor i know what im doing and its not a misinformation to anyone, all the problems in the 360 from hailine solder gaps and xclamp problem which bend the mother board to 98% of the xbox problem is related to heat and thats why they invented the falcon chip which run cooler, when there is no heat there is no problem, i'm modding all my friend's xboxs and all of them are playing more than 9 hours per day since one year leaving it on 24/7 downloading stuff and no one has got problems yet and kept there xbox cooled !!! no problem, if you need help dont hesitate to contact me.

Do you really think increased airflow will prevent the CPU from reaching temps of over 130 - 145 Fahrenheit? The GPU from reaching 120 - 130 as a matter of routine? The fan mod does help, that I do not contest, but there is STILL going to be heat on the dies that will STILL degrade the GPU connections over time because of the poor mounting system. If you can't grasp that, there's no reason to elaborate.

The set of "pro" skills you mention at the beginning are skills that about 99% of OCN does as a matter of simple routine.

The falcon chip runs cooler because of increased sinks on the north bridge, and a better mount. But chips still run in the 40s - 50s centigrade, and higher with big loads and ambients as high as 35 - 39 in Lebanon, India, Hong Kong, etc.
