I think you can make it to 4Ghz with that cooler and taht low of an ambient.

^.^

Now all i gotta decide is E8200 or E8400

Personally i think that the E8200 will go to 3.8Ghz quite easily, so i'll be paying £40 ish [$80] for 200Mhz more power if i get the E8400...

Saying that the E8400 has a X9 Multiplier

E8200 @3.8Ghz = 475FSB x 8

E8400 @4Ghz = 444FSB x 9 [Would need 445FSB in real world to get 4GHz]

Hmm...

Decision between budget and see how far it goes on the motherboard and more expensive but potentially more realiable

DS3L, DS3R or Asus P5N32-E PLUS SLi nForce [Essentially the Striker Xtreme]

I will say it again.

1. You won't be wasting two cores, its also mroe future proof.
2. You hate the best air cooling solution around?

e8xxx are extremely easy to cool. I'm using a $7 generic copper HS similar to the aluminum stock HS and getting 61C at load at 1.34v and 3.8Ghz.

You could easily passive cool this CPU if you used a very large HS.

1. I honestly think i would be, i play a game that is only dualcore optimised [City of Heroes/Villains] Run Windows XP Home N' Just do the occasional benchmarks with some nice overclocking

2. Yes, i hate the TRUE, it looks horrible. Function over looks only goes so far, you wouldnt date the fugliest girl in high school cos' she was good in bed

I'm just deciding between the E8200 and E8400

I plan on getting a high end motherboard such as the P5N32...But just found out it doesnt take 1066MHz RAM?

Well, i'll get a nice motherboard with some PC8500 [Crucial BallistiX ^.^] Then get a 45NM Revision 2 Quad in the future when the majority of things use quadcore
