In your case, the TRUE is not better than the TT, in that it won't let you overclock further. Heat is NOT a problem with the E8*** series. Over-voltage itself kill them before the heat does.

And no, it doesn't need a good fan. No heatsinks need good fans attached (I always use cheap fans), but top-of-the-range fans give you a slightly lower full load temp.

yeah, use a lapped TRUE and a good high CFM Scythe fan and you're good to go. All i have left to do is lap MY TRUE and then I'll be screamin'. I'm just too scared to do it!

I lapped my TRUE and saw about a 5C improvement across the cores with a quad.

At 3.6 with a Q6600 with an ambient of 23C in the case, my orthos load temps with small FFT's never exceeds 50C... ever.

I know the Tuniq is also decent but I don't think the price difference is a big deal as with the TRUE you can use any 120mm fan you have lying around. I found out that even high RPM/CFM monster fans don't make much difference over quieter 120mm fans.

I recommend the ZEROtherm Nirvana, I have it and it is definitely a nice cooler. I have mine mounted so that it blows right out the back case fan. It can be setup to exhaust up as well if you have a top case fan.
