[Hard oc] Trend Micro Hit by Massive Web Hack, wow

Just sort of interesting that a company that protects pc's and stops hackers, gets hacked haha.

"Getting hacked is embarrassing for any website. Getting hacked when you sell security software has to be humiliating. eek!

A Trend Micro spokesman confirmed that the company's site had been hacked Thursday, saying that the attack took place earlier in the week. "A portion of our site -- some pages were attacked," said Mike Sweeny, a Trend Micro spokesman. "We took the pages down overnight Tuesday night -- and took corrective action."

I use Symantec Corporate Edition 10. I dont know why all hardcore programmer/hacker/people who know hate symantec so much.

Im using Symantec, not n00bish Norton. It eats close to no system resources... anyone know why people hate Symantec so much?

Yeah I've used NOD 32... didn't particularly care for it. In fact PC magazine (last summer issue) found that NOD 32 consumes mroe system power than Symantec, and while it was better at catching spyware, it was NOT better at catching viruses.

I'm with you on that one. I use Symantec Corp 10 as well.

Please use "[QUOTE]" tags so that it is easy to distinguish between article text and your own.

I am curious if these hackers targeted this site for any reason besides the fact that the company offers security solutions.
