I am planning to run my RAID array with Vista Ultimate 64. I keep seeing refrences to AHCI and wonder if it is anything I need to learn about. Is the install process teh same as XP (hit F6, install driervs from fdd etc.) I also thought i had seen that Vista has built in drivers for RAID.

I am not sure how this applies to your post- but here is the info anyways...

You had to RMA your Ballistix too? I had TWO @ gig kits of Tracer PC8500 go bad in the past 3 weeks!!!

At least they didnt fail all at once- I still have the rig running.

AHCI allows for hot-swap SATA and NCQ in the hard drives. You will need to install drivers for AHCI before booting to it.

Well, I guess I need to know if this is something I will need to set-up or if it is automatic. Is it something I will even benefit from? I just don't want to go through the swap and get it all set just to find out there is something I needed to do in the beginning, lol.
