Line across screen - in game (what is this? - help)

Hello,

I wasn't sure where to post this.
When I play Crysis at 1680x1050(native to my monitor) and put it on high, it runs pretty good, but when I look side to side with my character, it seems like a line appears across the screen, left to right, where the upper portions is not aligned with the bottom?

I don't know if I explained that well, is that common? What's it called? Is it fps drop????

can you get a screenshot of it? fool around a bit with the settings to narrow it down and see which setting it actually is that's causing it.

I will definitely get a screen shot when I get home. Good call.

I've heard of vsync, but I thought it's a feature that's turned on, on a hardware side(nVidia Panel).

This is a pretty good article about vsync.

VSYNC can be enabled in any game that has it, regardless of what card you have.

That splitting of the upper and lower halves of your screen is actually the fact that VSYNC is off.

Gotcha, its called "tearing". When it splits.

It's just the game i was playing, Crysis, they didn't have that option in v1.0. They do after I patched it. Thanks for the help.
