I remember seeing something like this on a board I had a couple years ago. I think it was an Asus P4P800. The system worked fine so I never bothered with it.

Mine wasn't as bad as that though. That plug looked like burnt cigarette.

Does anybody have an idea what could cause this?

Amperage causes heat and charcoal looking parts. Either the voltage dropped, so the amps went up, or you had a bad connection.
