Hopefully something cool/awesome will come out this summer when I finally get off my lazy ass and get a summer job

EDIT, @Zealot, The highest I can push an app. With my current 6600, I can only safely go at 640x480 on COD4, but on something as old as Freelancer (great game) I can go to highest settings and only drop to about 50 fps in nebulas and such.

9600, 9600, 9600!

Believe me, it just under preforms the 8800GT by 10 FPS in SLI mode. (with both 9600 and 8800GT in SLI). its the 'cheaper' 8800GT in my opinion.

Why not just save a TINY bit more for an 8800GT? You can grab them now for $189...

I would go for the GS as the two cards perform very similar.
But the GS is CHEAP!!!

Newegg has the XFX 8800gs for 110 after MIR. The 9600GT are around 150 currently.

I'd go with the 9600GT because of the 256-bit memory interface.

huh, dankoni had a point, although I see an 8800gt for $179.99 (for 256mbs) or $199.99 (for 512mbs), so, should I go for one of these, or continue going for the 9600?
