Hey, dissing games?

I think Microsoft really messed up with thier console, they could have done so much more for it. (i own a 360 too.)

My 360 used to be all i used.... till i got my gaming PC

Halo 3 is on 360 only, until it becomes available on PC, I'll hang on to my 360. I bought COD4 for my PC Yesterday along with a 3870X2, hoping to see how it stacks up against the 360 at 19x12. I have a pair of Xeons coming in aswell. Yes, I like PC's better than Consoles mainly because of the graphics advantage.

Hey guys, quit flat-out dissing games/consoles. It's lame.

I actually kind of thought they were going to release a 360 BD add-on. How hard would it be? If it was like the HD DVD add-on where you could use it with any computer, I'd bet the a lot of people would buy it just for that reason. Microsoft could make some money off of this for sure.

I'm 53 years old and I play Nascar 08 on it. I also have it set up for media sharing with my Vista system where I have loads of movies I've recorded. Those play on the 360 over my network by the way.

Oh yeah........while my son (he is 15) is playing halo2(or is it 3?) and guitar hero III on the 360 he plugs his ipod in the usb port in the 360 and listens to his music.

It is hooked up to my new Samsung 40" LCD HDTV and my Sony Digital Stereo, by the way.

My daughter (12) plays DDR.

What was that ignorant question again?

lol thats one of the first things that came to my mind too. hasnt anyone else picked up on this yet??

even if X360 was to support Blu-Ray, it will be for the movies only. not that it really matters that the games wont be on a Blu-Ray disc.

to be honest, if i was Microsoft i would try quite hard to score a deal with Sony to get Blu-Ray support. with the fall of HD-DVD, they'd be stupid not to really, if they want their console to keep fighting the war and not die out too quickly.

i own a PS3 and honestly, its one of the best investments i ever made. one of the main reasons i got one was for the Blu-Ray support, helped me convince my old man to go in with me, save him buying a seperate Blu-Ray player. what can i say, im a good salesman haha.

imo, one of the biggest reasons for people to get consoles these days, especially a PS3/X360, is for all the extras, like the added media support. if they want a top market product, they gotta have top market support. Blu-Ray is the next new and best thing. Sony and its friends made a very very good investment there. i think its time to put the tail between the legs, suck in the pride and try cut in on the deal.

Back when the PS2 came out, people tried to use the fact that it could play DVDs as a selling point. I tried it as a DVD player ONE TIME! It sucked so badly as a DVD player, that I never used it for that again.

So if I were to buy a PS3 just because it could play a Blu-ray, I'd be a fool. Based on their previous track record, I would expect that the PS3 sucks as a Blu-ray player and you will eventually need to buy a real one.

Then sir, you are an ignorant person. And you are also ignorant of the fact that PS3 is the best Blu-Ray player on the market, one of the few if not only one compatible with HDMI 1.3 that's coming in the near future, the image quality is on par with any other Blu-Ray player, and more with its multimedia and gaming abilities.

EDIT: oh, not to mention that the Blu-Ray 2.0 specifications makes the most future proof Blu-Ray player on the market.

well put, if I had the extra cash sitting around that would definitely be the way to go. HD movies + a pretty decent gaming console...or folding rig

Exactly. This is an entire different situation than the DVD playback capabilities of the PS2.

The Blu-Ray drive FW can be updated via the PSN, and the drive in the PS3 is updatable.
