I like how it only compares states rather than the US Vs the rest of the world.

Lets me know what a crock of excrement the video is.

The only way to properly reduce gun related incidence is to remove all guns from circulation in the US. Also, if I was in that situation that guy was in, I'd just keep walkin. Most gangs do not randomly approach people and state their intentions and proceed to murder them without provocation.

Sigh.

I sure am glad you live over there. That way I do not have to worry about you being an advocate for stripping me of my rights simply because you do not understand or take advantage of the same rights.

What are you going to ban next in the UK after knives? Shoes? Because they can be used as a blunt object? Its for the kids, right?

hehe Kennesaw, Georgia... that's where I go to school.

Gun control would only work if we could go back to a time when guns were first being created and control the production of guns. But it's too late, and our society has become too corrupt to try and think that it's going to help with crime rate today.

I can start stereotyping you if you would like me to, and I'm sure you wouldn't be too happy with it.
So your saying Canada has no open space or huge ranches either? 1 we have more towns then cities, we have more open land in our prairies then texas, Im not stereotyping you guys, but i do find it ironic that it did happen in texas.

I used to be part of the "ban all guns" group, but after reading more and thinking about it I came to the realization that banning guns altogether will not stop gun crime.
If some people would get beyond the, "guns are bad, mmmkay" sentiment and thought about it outside an emotional realm they would realize that the only way to solve gun crime is through education.

You know what? You're right. The only way to properly reduce gun-related crimes is to prevent them from being a part of the US. We'll use the flawless systems of illegalization and restriction that were used during the Prohibition, which everyone knows was a great success. Heck, we can even take some finer points from the regulation of narcotics that has led to the complete removal of dangerous drugs from the streets of America. We'll give you the privilege-- no, the HONOR of being the torchbearer for change.

Actually, I think it is YOU who misunderstands your rights. In case you didn't know, the Bill of Rights is not set in stone. Legislation has modified the rights of Americans to some extent, but selective incorporation through the decisions made by the Supreme Court have decided that certain situations are NOT protected by the Bill of Rights. Don't assume that because it's stated in the Bill of Rights as a right (as per your interpretation, of course) it actually IS a right you deserve regardless of the situation.

It's a scientific fact that debating gun control with people who believe it is their God-given right (emphasis on God-given) to own as many guns as possible destroys more braincells than huffing paint.

I'm also dumbfounded that there are SO MANY people refer to the government like it's a separate entity that rules over every aspect of their lives, driven by the purpose of plucking away your rights one by one. I always have to ask, who is part of the government? Is it made up of people you know? If there is such a widespread opposition to "the government" and "politicians" then why do we continue to elect these hypocritical and corrupt people into positions of power? Given the opportunity, do you think the government would actively try to oppress you like a totalitarian state? More importantly, do you think they actually would be able to?

You have to stop and ask yourself if the system you seem to be so opposed to is being propagated by people like yourself, who seem intent on pushing the status quo, and file up lazily to cast your ballot for the lesser of two evils. You have to ask yourself if the government that seems to be weighing down on your rights, given the opportunity to oppress its citizens in a totalitarian situation, would be nothing more than big-headed generals barking orders, or mindless drones following orders. Someone has to act on the orders given by the perceived "elite". Could it be someone you know?

Actually, if he could get ammo and an unsecured gun in, it would be easy. All gun shows I've been to have required all bolts to be cable-tied open with no ammo on your person.

As a Texas resident, and a 16 year old who has access to 3 guns without leaving the house (I may be getting a semi-auto AK-47 for my birthday, but I digress), I have to say that the shooter was a douchebag and an idiot. I may get mad if my friend beats me in a game, but I'm not going to shoot him.
