Nono. It is because you fail to see that it would not be necessary to possess a firearm if tougher gun regulations were in place and citizens were not allowed to own firearms in the first place. Hell if I lived in america I'd have a gun, but that's only because of the ammount of guns in america and the assosciated risks.
You can have your opinion, and your gun. Nobody is trying to take that away from you.
If I were to go to the UK, you're right, I wouldn't expect to get a shot. Well it's possible, but more rare, we can agree, right?
BUT, I read constantly in the online news sites (here in the USA) of stabbings in the U.K. I can't help but think, what if that innocent stabbing victim had a gun for self defense?
And conversely, if one looks at Switzerland, where every able bodied man owns a firearm (all 7 million) then look at their gun crime RATIO (obviously they have a lower population, so you have to look at the ratio).
And also, here's one last thing I'll say.
I would gladly give up my gun if the GOVERNMENT AND THE CRIMINALS gave up theirs.
I don't want the government (like yours) to have all the power.
