My friend has one and the quality's exceptional for such a low price.

If you don't need to max out every single game, your 2900 will serve you fine until the next generation (not the upcoming rebranded craps). I don't see much demanding games coming out too soon.

Imo if you have to ask if you should upgrade then you don't need to. Your pc is obviously running everything you use it for just fine otherwise the question would be "which card should I buy?" I suggest just saving your money until a game comes out that your pc just can not handle. Then decide what to get when the time comes because new tech will be out and current prices will have dropped.

well imo the performance difference is def. not worth it. Wait for something NEWER than the 9800GTX to come out. The 8800gt vs the 9800GTX, id go for the 8800gt. Price vs comparasion easily shows the 8800gt is more bang for buck. The your 2900 is comparable to 8800gt. Unless you wanna be more power efficient, i wouldnt reccommend an upgrade for a good year.

A 2900XT is still a pretty powerful card (A power hog too lol)

I don't think you need to replace it yet

Why would you upgrade from a 2900 xt?
That card can play everything maxed out, even crysis with a VH config, so why would you upgrade to an 8800 gt/gts? Those two cards can't run crysis at stock very high so you're gaining absolutely nothing from upgrading....

I have both the 2900XT and 8800GT in other rigs and I don't really notice the difference in performance in most games.
