what effects will have upgrading to pci-e 2.0 in real world?

none as no graphics cards use all of the banswidth of PCI-E 1.0

Yeah, but when the time comes for the 2.0 to be used its going to be a great leap in speed.

The 9800GX2 might use the pci-e 2.0, but the rest can even run on 8x at the moment with minimal performance decrease from what i've heard.

p35 doesnt have the enchanced bandwidth pci-e 2.0 ports, it just regular old pci-e

was thinking of getting a x48 board to take advantage of pci-e 2.0 but didnt know if it was worth the £££

pci-e 2.0 also gives more power to the graphics card through the motherboard (as opposed to an external connector)

Upgrading right now and probably for a while in the future won't bring any noticeable differences.

P35 is the best budget board going.
