Your ballistix were 1066 versions? Cause I just got these back from RMA.. They arent acting the same as the other ones did (pc would either not boot, or just completely freeze wile attempting to do a memtest). They just get errors or restart the computer wile doing the test (I was guessing that this is a mobo issue). You saying I have to RMA...again? -.-

I actually have a 2 GB Crucial Ballistix Tracer dual channel kit @ 1066 MHz on this p35-DS3L. I'm actually starting to regret it. According to Crucial, the memory timings are 5-5-5-15. Funny thing is, I can't get them to run without errors on those timings. Maybe it's the board, maybe it's the ram. I'm sure you can get them to run error free at higher timings, but that means that crucial is lying about their specs. Point is, the board and the ram aren't 100% compatible, but they do run together. If your OS starts freezing or restarting, then you know that your timings are too short.

I've reduced the number of errors by decreasing the timings but I still get 1 or 2 errors per pass. BTW, it's not your current board that's the problem, its all DS3L boards that have this issue. My first DS3L was doing the freezing and restarting thing. THen the bios decided to "recover" itself and the board stop posting (i didn't even touch a thing, and I didn't even do any bios updates). This new board has the ram issues. I'm thinking crucial just did thinkg the design out with this memory..
