xbox 360 recharagble plug and play kit?

Thread Starter
Im not a fan of constantly buying batteries, so I went out to Best Buy and since I'm incredibly cheap as well, bought the 20 dollar generic plug and play kit as opposed to the 30 dollar microsoft one.

I put the new battery pack in, plugged the wire into my controller and into the front of the xbox, tried to hold down the big X button and it wouldn't work, all it does is flash all four green rings over and over and doesn't connect to the xbox

Then I left it to charge overnight and still, same problem.

Am I doing something wrong? Or are the gods punishing me for not buying Micro$oft accessories?

Flashing lights means it is not synced with the console. Press the sync button.

I havent owned a 360 in awhile. If my memory serves me correct it is right on the faceplate somewhere.

Look it up online or in the manual if you do not find it, though.

EDIT:

There is a sync button on the back of the controller right next to where you plug the plug and play cord into. There is also one on the front of the console to the right of the memory slots.

I tried that and both console and controller just spin around and don't find each other, even when I plug the controller in

i play at night, so i have about 6 energizer rechargeable batteries, 2 for controller and 4 charging so i can swop them out for a newly charged pair, when i need too that way i don't have to flip on all the lights at 1 o' clock in the morning going "Where the F are the AA batteries" and hunting around for a charged pair, the play and charge kit is a waste of money. my energizer battery charger is way more efficient.
