eVGA 9800GX2 on sale

Thread Starter
I am not here promoting sales with this post. I am trying to run a comparison of prices. So far I have seen two prices for two different cards. The PNY card, and now the eVGA.

Please post other links if there are any.

Edit:

Ebayers generally overprice their items. I am hopefull that this means we could see the 9800GX2 going for as little as $450

I doubt the new cutting edge card is going to be priced $80 over the old one. (Mail in rebates don't count btw, seeing how half the time you don't get em, and it's hardly worth the time and effort to send one in).

I'd expect the new card to be around 600 bucks on newegg when it first comes out (that's including the newegg markup, of course)

Yeah, I'm really thinking it's going to be at least $550 for a vanilla version.

What is one to do... buy a $300 GTX for sli, or sell the current GTX and buy a GX2...

I think the many news posts have made it abundantly clear that the price will be $599+ at launch. The price may drop over time but at launch I expect an MSRP of no less than $599 and price gouging to send the prices as high as $700. It's the whole reason the Ultra has been totally dropped from the ranks, expect Ultra-like pricing. Two G92 GTS' cost somewhere in the avenue of $500 so expect a price equal to or above that.
It is sad though that ATi seems to have won this battle because while the GX2 may win in raw performance, hopefully by more after we get decent drivers, it will cost somewhere around 25% more.

The ATI reminds me of the Honda NSX, it was a great value supercar but sales were not great because at the end of the day its still a Honda.
