that is true read my past posts and you will see. I have 68c idle with my stock cooler without being overclocked.

Its that damn 90nm cpu....
but with the tuniq its fine i guess. I overclocked mine from 3.0ghz to 4.3ghz without a hitch.

ugh i meant, a 3.6ghz pentium D performance is like a athllon 64 x2 3800+. Is it possible to upgrade your CPU on your old machine to a 800mhz fsb core 2 duo? Cuz even overclocking to 4.3ghz or w/e gains are very minimal and your paying 100 bucks for a new board.

Pentium D's are just slow.

A 1.8Ghz C2D outperforms a 3.6Ghz PD.

Get a cheap C2D

You can probably hit 4 GHz on that chip (805s hit 4 GHz fairly regularly) but it won't be super fast or anything.

Meh, as long as the bottleneck is gone. I cant stand it. I cant tell if its my card (x1900XT) or the cpu necking it sometimes, in some games.
