wow.. reading this thread is wanting to make me go water cool x] , I don't have my q6600 rig up yet, tomorrow I will.

Did you switch around your fans on the cosmos? It should have 3x120mm exhaust and 1x120mm intake...

New Update: added 2 fans right in the middle of the case...hard to explain: will have pics later.

Also heres a pic showing the temps in idle and load

order is as follows:

1 Cpu fan --- 1 CPU fan, 2 extra case fans --- 2 CPU Fans, 2 Extra Case Fans

Argh this is crap. It has creeped up to 59-65C under load again with stock voltage, 1.264v with cpu-z.
40-46c idle.
I've reseated it so many times and my temps always stay the same, what the hell. I don't want to have to lap the stupid thing just so it will work correctly, I fell like throwing the thing out and buying a tuniq or something.

oh man. I feel your frustration, and I hate to say it, but lapping is so totally worth it and not too hard. $20 and 2 hours of your time with your favorite beverage. And the rewards... last a lifetime. Or as long as your CPU.

Seriously, think about it. You might get a drop of almost 8C. And if you lap the TRUE, why not the CPU too?

1440.0mhz FSB, 360mhz bus, x9 multiplier.

4GB (1gbx4) 1066mhz 5-5-5-15

I cant seem to go over 3.26 ghz while still keeping it stable, though.

oh yeah its a g0 revision..id be happy with it as it is if it was a b3 lol
Ive gotten its stable at 3.0GHZ on 1.28Vcore. Is this the most i can squeeze out of it? How can i make it stop lowering the voltage when its under load, its stupid . If it would let me keep the voltage the same i could probably get 3.3.

(cm cosmos case) (all measured with Core Temp and loaded on Prime95)

My temps on 5 mins idle are:

38,37,31,30
(thanks to a new intake blowing air right above the Ultra)

on 100% load for 10 mins:

69, 68, 56, 54

the top fan lowered my temps by about 5 degrees C , leaving some extra headroom. Im comfortable with temps up to a max of 75C after 15 mins of load.

Any tips? i dont want to reset the huge cooler, but im looking to know more about limiting my...Vdroop? drop? whatever that is. Also, do you recommend changing volages on anything else? Im running SLI but the 670mhz cards are running pretty cool thanks to a 90mm fan blowing right through the middle of them. THANKS! FIRST POST FTW!

That isnt too bad.. I have a G0 running at 3.0ghz @ 1.21v, i get 38 37 33 31 while idle with a CNPS9700 NT. At 3.4 with 1.32v i get almost the same temps load and idle. I stress tested with Prime and ran it about an hour and 10 mins

EDIT: i just read the ...up to 75C, you need to remount the cooler

i meant im *comfortable* ith yp to 75 lol. Im not actually getting that lol. I rearranged my fans and am now getting even better temps at higher voltage and speed (3.4ghz). 35 35 30 30 on idle, case closed. under 55 or so (see above post i dont remember) at load

What are the full range of voltages (CPU, GTL, FSB, SSP, HT, MCP) that you are using to hit 3.6? The system is on water, high 40s under load.
