why does my old rig have a better 3D mark 06 score?

*** so my updated rig is so much better then my old one but look at my score? wth is going on?

old rig: AMD 64 4000+ @ 2.6 Geforce gtx 7800 2gigs of ram windows xp 32
score: 4435

updated rig: AMD Opteron Dual-Core @ 2.6 Geforce 8800 GT 2 gigs of ram windows xp 64 bit

Score: 3826

*** my score should be way higher then my old set up

I don't know if it has anything to do with that fact that you are running 64bit vs. 32bit.

We need more information... With the new rig, is it a new build? If so, did you reinstall OS? Did you reinstall driver? Did you install the X2 driver?

we need more deets on hardware of both rigs, and software differences on both rigs...

As always, do a fresh windows install with proper/updated drivers, then bench.

Make sure you have the bios in your new rig configured correctly...

You should always reinstall the operating system when you switch motherboards. Drivers are conflicting as your new system is trying to use the old drivers from your previous motherboard.

Ummm just something I noticed for all the above posters. He obviously did a fresh install of the OS if he went from 32 to 64-bit.

And as for what it could be, either the dual core driver isn't installed, as stated above, or something is not configured right.

With my rig at stock I got 4326 on 3dmark 06
