TRUE push pull

Thread Starter
i want to use push pull on my TRUE but i'm unsure what to mount the second fan with i have tried double sided tape but that didn't really work.

what do you guys do.

Also my current temps in core temps at stock are

34, 34, 28 ,32 on a lapped TRUE, is this alright?

i'm going to do a reset this weekend as i was stupid and made the TRUE face the top of my cm 690 instead of towards the back.

i'll post some picture tomorow so you get a better idea

I use a few zip ties hooked together. Idle temps seem a bit high but it depends on your ambients. Load temperatures are more important, you need to check those.

I used to run a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme with a push-pull setup. Per my tests the only advantage that conferred was an accelerated cool-down period from a full-load condition.

I used zip-ties to secure the second fan onto the heatsink. It worked well enough.

Here are a couple of photos of how I did it.

Hope this helps!

I can also confirm that push/pull doesn't much as long as your are running a high cfm fan. I got like 2C better so I've just got one on now because 2 fans were noticeably louder than 1.

I've found that using two fans on my heatsink did little for temps, and it added quite a bit more noise. It may even hurt temps a little since the air is moving so fast it has little time to cool the fins. Just my 2 cents.

Sorry for the bad image quality from my crappy camera phone. I use one clip for each fan and it works fine for me. It doesn't look like crap either.

I can confirm what others have said, it does very little for improving temps. Its all about the e-Peen!!

For the best results you should also lap your IHS.

I decided to convert top exhaust to intake and it dropped temps by about 2C-5C, which is a bigger difference than push-pull since im blowing air into another side of it. I'd consider doing this.

question. How do you guys wire the 2 fans? do you guys use 1 header (by splicing the 2 fan connector together)? or do you guys use 2 headers?
