Replacing Tuniq Tower Backplate sticker

Thread Starter
I removed the backplate from one motherboard and want to put it on a different one. During the removal process, the original sticker that holds the backplate onto the motherboard was pretty much destroyed.

My question is, would it be safe to replace it with electrical tape? I am planning to fold the tape so that the adhesive part is stuck on the backplate and use the other folded side to let it stick to the motherboard.

Get yourself some 3M double sided tape from your local Home Depot.

seconded. cut a small square, stick it on your backplate and you'll be good to go.

Hmm thanks for the recommendation. Just got a few more questions.

I searched online and found two kinds, one just says double sided tape and other says double sided foam tape. Are they the same or should I get a specific one?

What thickness would I need?
I see: 1/4'' , 1/8'' , 1/16'' , 1/32''

And are these just as hard to take off like the original tape that come with the tuniq tower (It was a pain to remove, fishing line + blow dryer)? Hopefully I won't have a need to remove it, but just in case I do.

either will work fine, the foamy kind will give you a little more of a spacer between (like what came with the tower originally), and just get one of the smaller sizes.

I've not taken off my tower plate yet so I can't give you a reliable comparison, but I don't think most of this tape is meant for removal, so it may take some effort to get it off again.
