RAID help with Biostar TA770 A2+

Thread Starter
I just installed this mobo with 2 160GB hard drives and am trying to get RAID 0 to work on it. I don't see a RAID setup function in the BIOS. When I try to install Vista and I select the RAID drivers off the disc that cam with the mobo, it tells me the drivers are not compatable. Please help!!!

I'm not using RAID on mine, but you can find the settings for it under: Integrated Peripherals, then South OnChip PCI Device.... then under that heading there is: OnChip SATA Type.... the RAID setting should be there. If you're using the eSATA, it would be: Integrated Peripherals, Onboard Devices, then Onboard JMB363 SATA Type. Hope this helps you out.... good luck!

When you create the RAID array (after enableing it in bios , then restarting) it will format your drives. As for a floppy, you will need it if you are installing XP. You can also Slipstream the drivers to the install disk first.

If you have Vista, just put the RAID drivers onto a USB drive and load them from that.

Click on the this link => Slipstream. It will take you to a page on how to slipstream. You can also use this link => nlite.

What these do is allow you to unpack your XP install disk to your hard drive. Then you can add the RAID drivers (or any drivers for that matter) to the installation folders. Then recreate the XP install disk with the drivers.

Then when you go to install XP, it will auto install the RAID drivers, thus omitting the requirement for the floppy w/drivers.
