Build Advice

So my system is lacking performance on games; not to mention my psu 4-pin connector for the processor is burnt...

The major parts that I'm considering are:
  • Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Quad-Core Socket LGA775, 2.40 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB, 8MB L2 Cache, 65nm (Retail Box) (BX80562Q6600)
Canada Computers $264.99
  • ASUS P5K Premium WIFI-AP ATX LGA775 P35 2PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 3PCI SATA RAID Sound WLAN 1394 Motherboard
Canada Computers $200.99
  • Crucial Ballistix (BL2KIT12864AA804) DDR2 800Mhz CL4-4-4-12 PC2 6400 2GB Kit (1GB x 2) 240-pin
Canada Computers $83.99

I would prefer to keep it to 1:1, but I know for a fact that I will tinker with it at some point and throw in a divider in search for that OC zen.

I thought about getting the 8500 version of C-Ballistix; but I was told it wouldn't be 1:1.

If you can spot any future problems with this please let me know.

Right,

Now on to the video card(s). I know this is a crossfire board; so if there is a mother board + video card combo that will provide suffecient gaming performance available for a reasonable price, I might have to choose a different board.

Any suggestions for the video card/motherboard ?

Thanks in advance

BL2KIT12864AA804 is this one. It is good ram. The board is a p35 chipset so you can pick a x38 for two full 16x pice. Don't know about your budget. Gigabyte X38-DS4 and HD3870 is a good combo.
