yes there are two easy tricks to trick the os to think its a full version set up.
just boot the vista os any version x86 or 64bit. dont enter the cd key/ and turn updates off then hit custom then select your hdd. "makes ure you select your version of vista.. home/premium/ultimate etc.."
then when its all done installing. still have the vista os in the drive and double click it and hit setup to reinstall it again. this time enter your cd key and hit upgrade. and updates on. and this time you wont have to enter your pass and name etc.. your done. then activate teh genuine key. if says you cant then activate it over the phone and your done. FULL version is installed
and i know it works done it 3 times and just did it 8 hours ago.
THERE IS NO NEED FOR A EXISTING VERSION FOR THIS TO WORK. just do what i said and you'll be just fine.
