Athlon 64 4000 so far

Thread Starter
I'm overclocking this comp for the first time. This is what I have so far
Athlon 64 4000 San Diego 2.4ghz Running 2.7ghz 12x225
pc3200 ram 400mhz running 450mhz
Asus A8N-E MB
HT 4X = 900mhz All voltages on Auto
Cpu temp 26c
Seems stable ran OCCT
I'm thinking I should start testing the cpu now and put the ram on the 166 div??
Is this good for the ram? Thanks

w/e helps to keep the ram at a sane speed, go ahead.

Well put the ram on the 166 and put the cpu to 230x12 2.760mhz ran good then put it to 233x12 2.8 and it didn't boot.So I think I got some good ram as it's not holding back. What now bump the volts on the cpu? it's at 1.42v stock. What can I go safely with the cpu voltage?and will that let it go higher?I thought this chip would go higher thanks

When I was looking at CPUID I noticed that at the 166 div for the ram the settings were faster than the 200. Does that mean when I have it on auto in the bios it would run on those.Which could be the reason I can't go any higher is the ram as I thought it was the chip. When I put the 166 div should I manuallly change the timming to the stock at 200mhz as it will be running up there with the overclock? thanks
