any left handed gamers here?

NOTE: I know this is a fairly long post, if you are lazy/add just skip to the last paragraph or two, but reading the entire post would help you understand my situation

I was born left hand dominant, even thought I am the only one in my family and extended family that is> I have also been playing PC games since late 1999. Mostly FPS games like Counter strike, but I've never been good at them even though I have a fairly good response time, fairly good rig and play fairly often.

Just a week or two ago I decided to give up PC gaming because it cost too much to upgrade to play games I was missing out on, cod4, oblivion, upcoming gta4 and I obviously got pwned several times as a noob, but most of the time I played worse than I did on PC K/D ratio wise

It suddenly struck me while playing COD4 that my left handedness could have an effect on my COD 4 sub par performance, my friend observed my game play and said that I had "great fluid movement" which was controlled by my left hand, or thumb, but that my aiming was "jumpy and inaccurate" which is controlled by my weaker right hand, or thumb.

so even though it may sound like an excuse for my piss poor performance, are there any other left handed gamers on PC or xbox that find it tough to play? or find it tough to aim or use other right hand functions? Is there any hope for me yet? Should I ditch FPS's all together? Should I train and develop my right hand for video games? Or should I specifically go after left handed accessories and controllers? any input from lefties and non-lefties is appreciated

Why not just remap your keys and use your mouse in your left hand?

yup i think most mice are designed for both left and right hand usage,i use mine in left when the right is busy
i can't see why you'll not perform good with a left handed mouse, not sure if you can get a left handed controller though.

p.s.- my friend is also left handed but he plays cs1.6 with the right just fine.

My friend is a lefty, play with the mouse on his left and right hand on the keyboard. Although it doesn't compromise his micro, he does have certain difficulties doing stuff like jumping since his thumb is on the wrong side. Trickjumping and crouch-strafing are nearly impossible for him.

Get one of those fancy gamer pads with only the useful buttons on them, it should help you. I'm getting my friend one for his birthday.
