This is news to me. The X38 chipset is supposed to be a better overclocker than the P35 chipset. And the P35 (correct me if I'm wrong) wont do complete crossfire. It does 1 x16 lane and 1 x4 (or 8? or is it 2x8?) lane. For crossfire, you need X38.

No the P35 overclocks consistently better, although some say the X38 is a better quad overclocker. And yes I know for crossfire you need an X38, that's what I said.

Your board is P35 board, which is the most mature chipset for OC. X38 is rev of P35. It is official to supports 1333 fsb anf 2 full 16x PICE2.0. Other than that, you don't need X38 board.

Yeah you are correct, the Nehalem CPU is first being released as 45nm, and is supposed to be released as a 32nm die in 2009 according to Intel's press release:

Intel's 32nm process technology is on track to begin production in 2009.

Thanks for correcting me on that. The point still stands that the Nehalem will be using a new socket, and therefore a new motherboard.
