A good racehorse only jumps as high as it needs to.

That pretty much sums up the whole Nvidia/ATI discussions.

Thank you!

IMO, if the 9800GTX specs are true.... I wouldn't even consider it worthy of the "8900GTX" title.

Ye thats funny. U people are whining like nVidia is selling old tech for insane amount of money. If u do have a G92 setup just keep it and be done with it. For people who don't have G92 8800's it is a viable option, cause for the same price u get a bit more performance and better OCer. How's that being wrong?

Its not wrong.

IMO this is just nVIDIA messing with their naming schemes.

This card it just not worth to be called 9800GT, nor 9-Series.

Yes, but he doesn't put up some mirrors and smokescreens while doing so and come out the other side pretending to have rocket blasters does he? =/

That's comparing two completely different architectures, while as has already been stated several times this uses exactly the same core as the 8800GT so there will be no architectural differences

You guys are forgetting that the 9600GT is right on the 8800GTs heels despite having half the shaders. I highly doubt it's exactly the same core. I think it's safe to assume 8800GT -> 9800 GT will be a pretty healthy boost. We'll just have to wait and see.
