Loop Boot - Page 2

My knowledge about Windows and viruses is limited, but I just recovered my data by doing the following:

Put your HDD in a friend's computer and boot off of your friend's HDD. You'll be able to access your files assuming you don't have a password enabled on your HDD. You can drag and drop them to a USB HDD, either an external hard drive or a flash drive.

Whether or not this has the potential to spread your virus to your friend's HDD I do not know. (just pick a friend you don't like very much lol)

I was able to save some files using ERD. So it is not AS big of deal to format... but I still want to avoid it...

Are there any other repair commands that might fix it?
Lildrummerboy, here is something I hope is helpful in regards to repairing windows: http://icrontic.com/articles/repair_windows_xp
