Alright if your a AMD fan thats cool, just going to suggest that you can get alot better performance for about the same price with a E6600 or Q6600... I'm not a fanboy just helping you get the best performance/price ratio

Looks good to me.

What are you doing about a video card, PSU, case, and CPU cooler?

You might want to consider an X2 5000+ Black Edition for $100 instead. The current Phenoms don't overclock well at all, and we're hoping to see some better performance in the next set which should be released in the next few months. The 5000BE should keep you happy until then, as it overclocks to 3.1-3.3GHz without much trouble. I know you want a Phenom now, but think how sad you'll be in a few months when everyone else is getting good overclocks on their Phenoms and yours is so-so. Just a thought.

Yea, that sounds good. I was gonna get this for graduation in like 3 months anyways. For GFX card, I'm going crossfire these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102719
The X2 isn't really worth it right?

I'm going to use my current case and power supply. Thanks

Is there any parts (regarding the mobo, processor, ram, and gfx cards) possible for an AMD build right now other than the 3870X2?
The 3870X2 is definitly worth it... Damn good card. If you can afford it.

Truthfuly, i'd stay away from the Phenoms untill the revision comes out in a little while... I'd just buy a AMD 5000+ BE and OC that untill then... Im saying this from experiance. Good choice with the DFI MOBO though.

Aurora, are you referring to the DFI Lanparty 790FX motherboard? What kind of power supply do you have currently?

Good luck

OCZ GameXStream 700 watt. Is the mobo that I picked out currently the best AMD mobo on the market (and best crossfire AMD mobo)?
