P5W DH DELUXE 4GB RAM not recognised!

Thread Starter
hello
i have an ASUS p5w dh deluxe MB, Q6600 CPU, and 4 X 1GB OCZ PC2-8800!
bios will not detect them as pc2-8800, only pc2-8500 dual chanel interleaved set manually
and bios only sees 3200MB not 4096MB??? why?
When booting with all 4 sticks, with bios seeing 3200MB at pc2-8500 windows xp works ok but Vista is restarting after the loading bar appears! it gives me a blue screen and restart!
please tell me what can i do to make bios see al my 4gb of ram and also the operating systems! i have both XP Pro and Vista business! both 32 bit!
waiting for an answer

You wont be able to use all 4GBs anyway with a 32-bit OS.

Maybe update your BIOS to latest release though. That usually addresses issues such as that.

Your memory timings and voltages are off.

You might have to select memory remap option in the BIOS as well.
Once again...

Yep. I've always had to make adjustments in the BIOS to get the RAM at stock speeds and voltages. Its never automatic it seems. But with the P5W, its an easy fix.
