help me take my first OC further!!!!!! (please :p)

Thread Starter
EDIT: ACTUALLY NVM. I'M HAPPY WITH 3GHZ AND ORTHOS CRASHES AT 3.1 ISH. SORRY FOR THE WASTE OF SPACE :d

i cant find the original thread, it was a few months ago but here's teh short of it:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ @ 3.003ghz

FSB: 231 (i can change it)
HT multiplier: 4 (i can change it)
Multiplier: 13 (fixed)
core voltage: 1.350 (fixed)
ram divider: 8? (fixed)
i can change all memory timings but i dont know anything about that. well actually i dont know much about OC'ing all together...

so yeh, i went from stock 2.6 to 3ghz by increasing FSB to 231 from 201. i am running FSB at 235 currently, orthos priority 7 going good for 1.5 hours so far.

so i spose my real question is how high can the HT link be, and does it affect performence or stability much?

thanks a bunch for any replies

The HT can do up to a mid 1300 on AM2/AM2+ systems with a good MB.
If you have the option, you might want to increase the chip set voltage or if just a South Bridge is listed bump it up a little.
RAM timings modifications can be helpful too, but that gets rather deep and there is no magic settings
