So, I'll have my dad figure out what price he can get the Zune and the dock for. If the Zune is a little pricey still, I can get an 8 or a 30 open box for about $150.
Fair enough... but as far as docks go there are only 4 players (imho).

first, wierdly and strangely, is the bose mobile dock
second the Karman Hardon (lol - is that the right letters in the right order o_O )
third comes the Jamo (which has a jack for an extra subwoofer)
fourth is the Logitech with the Radio and remote control.

Any other dock is a piece of cr@p (unless you find a nice Kliptsch or similar)

Well, I specifically mean the dock that just has power and a line out jack. I'll plug it into my stereo, so I could care less about a dock with speakers already.

Cowon D2 gets my vote, as it has like GREAT battery, 52hr audio//12hr video advertised battery life, and the quality is great as well.

it comes with 2/4/8 Gb variations and you can expand it with SDHC's, which has like 32Gb nowadays.

Its a touch screen, so if you have a problem with that, maybe D2's not for you, but there are tactile buttons for volume +/- and track up/down. I have 2 and I love it.
