I wouldn't say crushed. I mean I do have a better 06 score than you with 2 less cores =o) and on an x2.

in source you can change the MAX FPS using the obvious command...

fps_max 999

.... I get up to 500 FPS with my setup running at 1920x1200, 16AF,8xAA,HDR Full, Max specs.

using the CSS Benchmark tool I get around 230 FPS average... lowest it goes is like 130, then runs all the way to 560 for a quick sec at the end...

removing the 300fps cap did alot for the benchmark, went from 180 to +220

Mistake #1: Getting all excited about ONE source that backs up a product you just invested over $1200 in

It's your money and if you're happy then sweet. Seriously.

Lolz I wasnt trying to be ****y thats silly. I'm just saying that overall averages between the Ultra and the 3870X2 it pretty much kills in the graphs that Tom's Hardware reported. What's your score like in Vista?? Oh ya I guess you didnt put that in your signature. Let me check it out for a comparison?

Again wasnt trying to come off all "mines better than yours" there was this guy that kept ttrying to compare these cards to the Ultra's and basically stating that 2 Ultra's would kill this card etc... well I say for less money than "2" Ultra's this newer technology in quadsli should dominate the Ultra's thats all. http://www.tomshardware.com/2008/03/...ew/page18.html

Guess I got caught up in the last page to much hehe =)

Sorry, I think I mis-interpreted you before. Even with my general distaste of using 3DMark06 to judge absolute 3D performance:

Rig in my sig gets an average of 16500

For basis of comparison, I'll try and match up some of your Crysis benchmarks and throw some numbers into the thread.

well i JUST bought my 8800gts at the end of January... but I don't think there will be a price drop for the 9800gx2 by April 28th, so should i probably just step up now? and the 120 day step up program by EVGA is ONLY going backwards... not forward, is that correct? So since I bought it on January 28th, I'd have to do it in the first 90 still and couldnt wait until the end of May. Would there even be a price drop then? I'm trying to spend as little as possible (duh) ahah.

How long does it usually take for the price on something like this to drop?

I doubt the "Evga" price will drop at all. Usually what i have found is eventually you will find "backordered" indefinatley on most of thier product on thier direct site. Have you seen the same trend as well?
