Memory maker G.Skill released a couple of new NQ memory kits. This new memory family includes 8GB and 16GB DDR2-800 CL5 memory kit and DDR3-1800 CL9 memory modules that run at 1.5V.
As in all NQ products, it begins with efficiency. F2-6400CL5Q-16GBNQ is perfect for high capacity demand users which are like graphic designers and video editors. F3-14400CL9D-2GBNQ is the world 1st energy saving product in high performance memory. As general understanding, high performance means high power consumption. G.Skill F3-14400CL9D-2GBNQ operates in DDR3-1800 speed with default voltage 1.5 Volts.

“We have taken the premise of cost efficiency that we started in original G.Skill NQ memory and are evolving it across our product line†said Johnson Huang, General Manager for G.Skill. “With these 2 new products launched, we have extended the cost efficiency idea from assembly cost to total cost.â€

DDR3-1800 CL9 NQ Series Features:
Guaranteed clock speed of 1800MHz (PC3-14400)
Low latency settings of 9 (CL), 9 (TRCD), 9 (TRP), 24 (TRAS)
Lifetime warranty
Part number: F3-14400CL9D-2GBNQ - A matching pair of 2GB kit (2 x 1GB modules)
DDR2-800 CL5 NQ Series Features:
Guaranteed clock speed of 800MHz (PC2-6400)
Low latency settings of 5 (CL), 5 (TRCD), 5 (TRP), 15 (TRAS)
Lifetime warranty
Part number: F2-6400CL5D-8GBNQ - A matching pair of 8GB kit (2 x 4GB modules), F2-6400CL5Q-16GBNQ - A matching pair of 16GB kit (4 x 4GB modules)

why? is their any use use for this outside of eXtreme workstations and servers?
My 4 gig kit from g.skill runs vista ultimate 64 bit and games just fine. Does that speed really help. will the cpu be able to use all the speed.
still it is cool and i will probaly buy it someday

apparently 4gb isnt enough for me. Right now i have 2gb and i am forced to go to xp. Vista is just too hungry for me.

Some people just do a hell lot of things sometimes. Rendering, hosting, CAD.
