I need a VGA cooler for my 8800GT

Thread Starter
i was thinking of the Zalman VF1000 or the Thermaltake DuOrb. If i get the Zalman VF1000 do i have to get the metal plate under it thats like $30 bucks? or can i just use it. Thanks.

The DuOrb is a better cooler than the VF1000. i don't know about the metal back plate.

if you get the vf1000 you have to get the ramsinks, I would get the DuOrb and then some nice Zalman ramsinks

The ZM-RHS88 is for G80 style boards only. The DuOrb is a better cooler for much less, and yes you can just slap it on, it comes with ramsinks for the memory as well...

Looks like you've got an 8800GT, which means you don't need the plate, and can use the materials that come with the VF1000. I did a write up of my install here: http://jromi.blogspot.com/2008/01/88...-friendly.html
